Cru Bear provides custom 3D printing, model preparation and production engineering from Louisville, Kentucky. These terms apply to project work we quote and produce. This is not an online store, and nothing here relates to retail orders, stock items or shipping of catalogue products.

Quotes and estimates

Quotes are given in writing and are based on the files, dimensions and requirements supplied at the time. If the scope, size, quantity, material or finish changes, the quote changes. Verbal figures and ballpark ranges are not quotes.

Modeling is separate work

Printing a supplied, print-ready file and building a model from a photo, sketch or reference are two different jobs. Where a model has to be created, repaired or substantially reworked, that design time is quoted separately from the print and is not included by default.

Your files and rights

• You confirm you have the right to reproduce anything you send us.
• You keep ownership of your own designs. We do not claim them.
• We may decline work that appears to infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights, or that we judge unsafe or unlawful.
• Production files we create, such as segmented parts, connectors, supports and slicer projects, remain our working files.

Approvals and revisions

On larger projects we provide visuals or proofs for approval before production. Once you approve a stage, work proceeds on that basis. Changes after approval may require new time and materials, and we will tell you before we spend them.

Lead times

Timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Custom projects usually run in weeks rather than days, and engineering, approvals and finishing routinely take longer than the printing itself. Machine faults, material supply and revisions can move a date. We will keep you informed rather than quietly slip.

What a 3D printed part is

3D printed parts are built in layers. Visible layer lines, seams where sections join, support contact marks and minor variation are normal characteristics of the process, not defects. Where a piece is supplied as a working pattern or as components, it is intended to be finished by you or your fabricator.

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, parts are supplied unassembled or partially assembled and unfinished, without paint, coating or structural mounting.

Outdoor and structural use

Where a material such as ASA is chosen for outdoor suitability, that is a material property, not a guarantee of service life. Real durability depends on structure, adhesives, seam finishing, coatings, drainage, impact exposure, installation and maintenance, which are outside our control. We do not warrant a fixed lifespan, load capacity or structural performance.

Payment

Terms are set out on each quote or invoice. Larger projects normally require a deposit before production begins, with the balance due on completion. Deposits on custom work cover time and materials already committed.

Cancellation

Because this is made-to-order work, a project can be cancelled before production starts. Once modeling, engineering or printing has begun, you are responsible for the work completed and materials consumed to that point.

Faults

If something arrives damaged, or a part does not match what was approved, tell us promptly and we will put it right by reprinting or correcting the part. This does not cover normal process characteristics described above, changes of mind, or damage after delivery.

Showing the work

We may photograph completed work and show it in our portfolio, on this website and on social media. If your project is confidential, or you would rather not be named, tell us and we will keep it unnamed or leave it out entirely.

Liability

Our responsibility for any project is limited to the amount paid for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost time or costs arising from a delay.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
